Title: Are these any good?

Im planning on putting some form of pond down on the lottie (when i get on top of it) but was wondering if these types of solar powered pumps are serve any purpose other than looking like a fountain?

They do work our next door neighbour bought a terrocota pot which circulates water using a similar type of system and she wonders why she attracts frogs to her jungle, ;)
