Post by: suhayb on September 13, 2004, 00:04:03
where would you good people recommend getting some sand for the soil when re-seeding a lawn.
i.e. a large quantity (200kg+), lime free etc

thanks

Any decent builders` merchant.  You will presumably need sharp (concreting grade) sand, which most sell already packed in 25k or 50k bags, but some smaller suppliers will allow you to fill your own bags from the heap in the yard.

But are you sure that it is really sand that you want?  If it is because your soil is very heavy or sticky roadstone grit would be much more use.

Make sure it is washed, a lot of builders sand is not and can contain a lot of salt.
