Title: Citrus compost
Post by: Val on March 27, 2009, 10:56:28
Does anyone know if its okay to use multi purpose compost with orange/lemon trees? I know they need lots of drainage but not sure what compost to use, I've googled it and ended up even more confused so thought I'd ask the experts, so here I am. ;)

You need Ericaceous Compost for citrus plants I believe

In my view, good drainage means crocks in the bottom of a pot, a little too large for the plant and a bit of grit & sand (or/and vermiculite if you can afford the luxury) mixed with ordinary all purpose compost.

I like to keep life simple.
