I started some Scotch Bonnets and Habaneros of at the end of November, and then had sown the rest in batches with the last batch been sown mid-January. All in a heated Vitopod in th unheated greenhouse. Going brilliantly so far.

Here are some pics I took at the end of January, but they have all grown well since then.

Lovely strong plants there.  I have started sowing - about 10 varieties so far.  Still have a few more to get done so this half term, you know where I will be.  ;D

I must admit I'm surprised how well they are doing. So many people seem to start them of early but under Flouro lights indoors, but I think I'm showing that a greenhouse (even through winter) will provide enough light if you can give them heat from a propagater.

I have the following varieties growing:

Apache
Black Hungarian
Brazilian Starfish
Bulgarian Carrot
Cherry Bomb
Chinese Five Color
Habanero Orange
Hot Lemon
Hungarian Hot Wax
Jalapeno Early
Joe's Long Cayenne
Numex Twilight
Scotch Bonnet Red
Super Chilli

Let me know what varieties you have/are going to sow.

Here's a piccy of last years Orange Habanero that I'm overwintering.

Excuse my potential ignorance, but is there another kind of Scotch Bonnet? I have only seen the Jamaican one, which of course comes as red, gold and green.  :-\  I am trying (again) to grow this as it is such a pretty little bush. Would like try others, if available.

Of the two types I sowed on 15 Feb, Chilli Trifetti (saved seed) are up and nice and sturdy but no sign yet of 'Pretty in Purple' which a kind member here sent to me.  Perhaps these take longer to germinate?  Conditions are identical.

Thought I'd give you a quick update. Have given away a lot of spare plants to family and friends and I'm now done to my 'keepers'.

All still in the propogator in the greenhouse, with Apache, Black Hungarian and Brazilian Starfish pushing at the lid on the double-height Vitopod. May have to take off and leave off the lid within the next week or two.
Prop is turned down to 15C just to keep the chill off at night.
A few flower buds appearing on the Black Hungarian, Super Chilli, Hot Wax and Cherry Bomb.

I found an old stash of 30+ varieties, i've sown 24 of them today.
Some packets only had one seed in and they are a couple of years old,
so hopefully they'll all come up.

I won't list them all though.

Peruvean Purple, Orange Habanero and Twilight all growing nicely now.  Planted about 3 weeks ago.  I planted the second round of seeds last weekend and no signs yet, but I think it was about 8/9 days for the last lot to start showing.

We're gonna have more Chilli's than we know what to do with this year lol

Planted 5 each of 7 types on Friday - I always go overboard!  I also have a Dorset Naga overwintered from last year which looks to be sprouting nicely now too.  Will prob also sow another Naga too - just to keep it company!

My first chillis are setting  :D

Got 5 or 6 on my overwintered Habanero Orange, and one on my Cherry Bomb so far. I can see I'm not going to have to buy chillis from around May... excellent!

Saddad - I did "Carribean blend" last year and have sown another 10 this year (5 up so far).  They are a mix of small hot red ones, big long ox-horn peppers (not hot) and medium sized yellow ones if last years 6 plants are anything to go by.

This year I've also set a few of the freebie gardeners world catalogue ones - Cayenne.

Adrian - did you ever get your electric bill !? :o  ;D
