we ate some of the leaves off our brussell sprouts,blooming delicious.i cooked them like spinach,ie wilted them in a little butter.the taste is similar to kale

I was introduced to this delicacy last year by an allotmentee(is there such a word I'm sure you know what I mean) of some 50 years standing and yes it tastes fab!!

Too many years ago, while I was at school, I worked saturdays in the local greengrocers.
We used to have sacks of sprout tops delivered to the shop and from what I remember, they always sold well.
Haven't seen them for sale for years though....

I donj't have to worry about pigeons till we get a cold snap, then they'll eat any brassica they can get their beaks into until we get somde mild spring weather. Amazing how they vary. I'll be netting the brassicas this week.

I'm sure I can remember eating sprout tops.
