So sorry to hear that Steve, i just wish you could catch them & march them to the police station, mind you having said that  you would probably be in trouble, what a state of affairs when people do this it may not be just young peeps though who knows.
Try not to loose heart with your lottie.

That's horrible for you - so sorry. It makes me mad that people will just destroy things that others have worked so hard to build up.

Last week 15 sheds on our site (inlcuding mine) were broken into. Hardly stole anything, just trashed the sheds and squashed fences etc. I was gutted.

Sending you BIG HUGS and hoping that you and your fellow lottie holders can get it all back on track again soon.
xx

Sorry to hear about this Steve. As you know (I think) I used to live there and some of the kids are just thugs. My son used to get beaten up regularly at school while the previous Head turned a blind eye.
Those kids and their siblings will most likely be the cause of your current distress.

I know every ones thinking what the @*!* is she going on about but i think Steve will understand what I'm saying.

One of the parish council workers had a bonfire right between mine and my back lottie neighbours sheds a week or so ago....sheds are less than 10 ft apart. So i was actually thinking while I was working today how devastating it would be to lose my shed especially to stupidity like I've mentioned or vandalism.

So sorry for you and your lottie neighbours.

Our field was targetted by vandals overnight last night - they gained access by cutting through the chain link on one of the gates and then bolt cropped /used crow bar on padlocks and bolts on 35 sheds - but they don't appear to have taken anything.  Worse shed targetted was our field machinery shed which has a very strong steel bar across the doors and strong steel fixing bars to the side - they couldn't bolt crop the fixings (although they tried) so attempted to gain access by smashing the wood at the side of the door.   Occupant of one of the houses backing onto our site (he has an allotment here) heard noises and investigated - he did tackle one of them but intruder got away - leaving behind their bolt croppers.

It was reported to the police and they attended fairly quickly and have said that everyone (my shed was one of those targetted) needs to report individually.

To come out armed with bolt croppers they must have intentionally targetted us but why cause all this damage - and take nothing?

Maybe they would've taken the lot if they hadn't been chased away. I guess the police want it to count as 35 crimes - helps then justify their resources.

We're just not allowed sheds - which means the scum have won!

We've had problems in the past, the worst being chickens beheaded. I know some time I'll get my locked storage bin broken into, but I just leave my shed open all the time. Will also get a brick through the windows sometime... I try to think that it's going to happen anyway & when it does I'll just repair and carry on.

We know how you feel had over two hundred break ins this year and two sheds destroyed and greenhouses vandalised on our allotments in Dundee finally got the police to agree to patrol the allotments at least once a night and hope it will make a difference.
Lost about four gardeners they could not take it any more but the rest of us will still carry on.

The day I got my lottie I was told never to lock my shed. The thieves around here only target locked ones as they think there is something valuable in there. It makes sense in a twisted way I suppose. We now have a very secure padlock on the front gate but if someone really wanted to get in it wouldn't be too hard. Such a shame.
