Sorry for posting early but since you all acted as manure spreaders On the thread I am glad you lost a some quid on wasted food  and new clothes. But alas I was going on a jolly on the 25 to a B&B near a bill bong. But since you blighters got your sweets spoiled. I save  Blood Mary toast for you all but alas you all don't have any tomatoes to make them. ttfn

I have read this reponse a few time and I still don't know what it means??

A bed and breakfast  in a bill bong..what does that mean?

The last bit about Mary is totally beyond me and I am not kidding!!

I have tons of tomatoes, but what has that got to do with a vanilla.

Lost.

Just off to look up vanilla plant, so I was wrong.  Sob, sob.  Do we get vanilla ice cream from a vanilla plant.  Never heard of it before.  Had to buy tomatoes from Marks & Spencer today as mine got blight, and they charged me for a bag as I was only going to the bank and tax OH's car so forgot my shopping bag.  Very expensive tomatoes, £1.99 plus 10p for bag.  Sob sob.

im glad im not the only one that didnt totally understand it
although i think the jist of it was he gave away the answer early cos he was aay at a jolly of some sort and that he was glad we all wasted money on new clothes and food for the party of announcement day and that we could have all celebrated with a bloody mary if only we produced as many tomatoes as he had so we could make the tomato juice
or summat like that i think  ??? ???

I too know what a Bloody Mary is but in the context he wrote it I thought it was his companion not the drink

I also know what a billabong is.. but a bil bong??

And  I still want to know what the bed and breakfast bit (B&B) is all about  or is is a mistake ,was he sleeping  at B&Q or does he mean he went to a BBQ.. I am still lost.

Grawc, I think I need my bumps felt too!!

I think GBG's cheese has slipped off his cracker.. or maybe mine has.

Leaving on a positive note, I ma reminded of a couple of  popular sayings of my Dads.

Don't dish it out if you can't take it    OR       Don't start something you can't finish

Do i take it that assbean is as in urban slang if so then i think you are out of order to add that extra S to asbean,s name. I would certainly take it as an insinuation which is bordering on malicious.

Could you not consider going away GBG, you don't like us, you are always being mean and offensive to folks and you seem to have no problem going way ocerboard with your insults.

We care for  one another on this site, yes we have a couple of meanies like you who seem to enjoy hurting people, but we stick up for each other too. Hurt one , you hurt us all.

We are all a bit sick of you frankly, you send out these questionable jokes that are really insults and now we just give you it back, you start it,what do you expect. Then you get snotty cos people aswer you back. It is like a bully on a playground, shouting foul when finally folks say enough is enough and start giving yoiu a hard time.

I think you should just go somewhere else, unless of course you want to be here and if so.. be nice.

You must have a very miserable life to get jollies bulling strangers.

Just join in nicely, foks will soon forget how mean you used to be..if you don't it, then please go somewhere else. WE DON'T LIKE YOU LIKE  THIS,,,THINK ON IT...sorry would be a good start.

Come back friends or don't come back.

I don,t think i am wrong about your implied meaning.

I am asking you to put the meaning of assbean for all to read.

I know what it means as in urban slang and know doubt every one else who reads this post will after they have Googled it.
Title: Re: Message for the Great Gardner

 GBG

You have just done it again... an offer to be friends was made,

you answered that by being rude to asbean by calling him a rather offensive name..

you then offended davy by contradicting him in a rather abrupt way

you then insulted all of us by saying we were stupid

you then  told me I was wrong about a veggie again in an abrupt manner that was nothing to do with this thread.

Now listen to me  please very carefully and I will explain something about me.

I love people, all people,  but if I witness an incident that hurt someone else I will intervene wether it be verbal or not.

I have just looked back at your many posts, under different names, I have read your comments on other forums too and I have to be absolutely honest and say straight up you seem to go out of your way to be mean. The very first comment you put on this forum insulted  someone married to a minister, a nicer person you couldn't expect to meet..naturally those who knew her reacted. You carried on like that, truly we did not start it, but now  the situation  is were folks are ready for you and will be rude when you are.

What about a truce for the sake of the forum, gardening and politeness in general, surely things would be happier for you too.

I for one will promise not to be naughty to you if in return you promise not to be mean to others.

If you are genuine about this I would like very much to chat with you and get to know you on a much more friendly level, your knowledge is excellent on some things but irrelevant if no-one reads it.

I am holding out my hand here and happy to shake  and would enjoy you doing the same,

I am happy to forget the many insults you have thrown my way, many of which I would not say to you as they cross my personal line, but I can put that behind me. I am happy to apologise to you too. What I would really  really like you to do though is please stop using the assbean  word and apologise to asbean, this is very rude and it is not too late to take it back. I for one will be very pleased to see you do that and I think it will go a long way to stopping the atmosphere on the site.

I think this is a good start, now the next move is yours..come on GBG..as I said before, join us as friends or please go away. We are losing friends because of this and that bothers me very much.

I will add, and please correct me if I am wrong.. I am guessing that English is not your first language, if I am right this might account for some of the comments that you see as funny that come across as rude, if we are aware of that it would make things flow easily.

 With respect XX Jeannine

Jeannine much as I applaud your comment I feel that your efforts are sadly wasted on GBG.

Sorry but I think the whole thing is disgusting.  Tgg didn't start this thread. And when has pointing out spelling mistakes ever been acceptable on A4A?  Utterly disgraceful behaviour all round.

Why even look up what he meant when you know it is going to be offensive?

Believe it or not Dan does a bloody good job of sorting out complaints,if they are made to him.  Nips it in the bud.

I was alerted to this post...I thought it was going to be fun but sadly not. I'm sick of posts like these and they always involve the same people .  All as bad as each other

I used to love coming on here, have had some wonderful laughs and have made some really good friends. But no more,it's a horrible place to be now.

Mmm.. I've been thinking of bringing this and one or two other threads to Dan's attention. There seems to be a lot of gratuitous nastiness going on, on the one hand, and extreme huffiness at some perfectly "normal" replies on the other.

I don't know that I'd agree that it is a horrible place but I do think some folk need to chill and take themselves a bit less seriously? we kind of lose sight of why we're here sometimes.

No doubt someone will be along shortly to tell me that this is a load of old codswallop! ;)

It is indeed a load of old codswallop. TGG is just indulging his penchant for prooking everyone, that's all. He's very good at it. I can't remember why I unignored him, but he's going straight back on the 'ignore' button.

On the other hand, it has to be said that he didn't start this thread, which I think was ill-advised, as it was bound to get a response eventually.

ALL...

I have watched this thread and others with suprise.

Allotments4All and the members used to pride itself on the welcome provided to everyone (the 4All gives a clue as to my thoughts).

Disputes with happen, as they do in any community, but sadly in an online community people find it easier to continue arguing.  I have provided an ignore button for a reason, not many people use it, but I advise that you do.

I run the forum with a light touch, but as a few people can verify, when needed I can and do moderate users posts, ban people for a period of days, prevent people from posting, or even as a last resort ban people for good.

Please try to let any arguments / disagreements go, and if you can not, then click ignore.

Thanks

Dan
