Title: permanent border or not

hi all,have built a g'house but should i put a border in or use growbags/pots.

Border!! grow bags dry out too quickly, your border soil should hold a lot more than any bag can. I  replace some soil with WELL rotted manure each year, works for me (see my other comments under various tomato threads)

Yeah i use border, no growbags to buy, not as much watering required and been getting great crops for past 3 years. Like Tony says replace a fair amount of soil every year with manure or good compost.

Personal preference I think.   I use a border and mix in fresh compost annually.  I also change the surface layer every 3 years or so.  Using growbags only could be more expensive but I have not tried this method myself.

Advantages of growbags is that you will have a more fertile substance for growing crops.  Disadvantage would be that you will need to water more often than if you had planted directly in the border.

my 6 foot wide greenhouse has a 18 inch wide path down the centre.
