hi all, have built a g'house but should i put a border in or use growbags/pots.
-
Border!! grow bags dry out too quickly, your border soil should hold a lot more than any bag can. I replace some soil with WELL rotted manure each year, works for me (see my other comments under various tomato threads)
rgds Tony ;)

Yeah i use border, no growbags to buy, not as much watering required and been getting great crops for past 3 years. Like Tony says replace a fair amount of soil every year with manure or good compost.
-
Personal preference I think. I use a border and mix in fresh compost annually. I also change the surface layer every 3 years or so. Using growbags only could be more expensive but I have not tried this method myself.
Advantages of growbags is that you will have a more fertile substance for growing crops. Disadvantage would be that you will need to water more often than if you had planted directly in the border.

there has been problems with growbags this year, beware! ;)

How wide do you make your borders?
-
my 6 foot wide greenhouse has a 18 inch wide path down the centre.
