Are yours indoors? Mine are outside, they are only just growing tiny fruit now but I am pleased as I didn't think they would take. My neighbour has some lovely peppers growing and aubergines, she is well chuffed, but it has been alternating warm and a bit rainy here so good veg weather.

thye were in pots(no greenhouse then..)and i brought them inside and harvested the last red one on new years day-the plant itself looked awful but the pepers were healthy

I think all green peppers ripen red (or orange, yellow or brown) eventually - some varieties just stay green longer.

As to readiness I can't think of how to tell when they're ready, other than they look and smell right. Sorry.

I am very pleased with my first attempt at growing peppers.

They have been grown in the greenhouse and are quite large already!
