Hi,
Do Autumn raspberries carry their fruit in a different way to summer fruiting ones?
Before we took our plot over in March it had regularly been strimmed to the ground, so when the raspberries started coming up, I thought they would fruit next year. Now some of them are bearing fruit in bunches right at the top of the canes. The fruit looks a bit small. Do you think they are Autumn raspberries - or just deformed summer ones (so sick of being strimmed that they attempt to fruit on one year canes?).

That's exciting...
And if they are autumn fruiting, do i chop them down again when they have finished fruiting?

Sarah, they get cut down in my garden in the late winter or early spring, leaving about 6inches. A warning though, raspberries love to send out suckers, and they appear all over the place! DP
