Over the weekend we had:
lovely green salad from the garden, with home grown red onions (yep the bolters!)
new spuds parboiled then pan sauteed with the said red onions and some thyme, also home grown,
peas! yum yum yum
pie made from our fruit, first time I have got gooseberries! Delish!

And waiting in the fridge are some lovely yellow courgettes and some fennel, that will go in with the roast chook tonight and the courgettes as ratatouille! Needless to say I have stopped going to the market and I think I will call it a day on my organic veg box!

I love this time of the year when fruit and veg is all your own stuff. I am having fruit compotes and yoghurt for breakfast, salads (including potato and broad bean salads, washed baby carrots yummy) for my packed lunch, and then I am cooking whatever is ready for dinner plus meat or fish. Spinach, both normal and orache, have been a delight this year.

I would be veggie in the evening as well -  risotto primavera is one of favourites, but my OH doesn't believe it's dinner unless it has meat or fish with it  ::)

Just picked courgettes, sugar snaps, mangtout, peas, broad beans, lettuce, artichokes & loganberries.

Oh, and sweet peas & plenty of herbs! And the GH tomatoes are just starting & we'll have a cucumber in a day or two.

Didn't need potatoes (picked plenty at the weekend) or gooseberries (a punnet of those picked the other day still waiting in the fridge!); didn't fancy carrots, beetroot, chard, but I could have had a decent picking of all those.

Aren't we gardeners lucky people!

my turn now!

Just got back from the plot with a couple of caulis, two cucumbers, some charlotte pots, salad, salad and more salad, beetroot, onions, garlic, sugar snaps, petit pois, and gooseberries.  Oh yeah, and two strawberries - but they never made it to the table.

The only stuff likely to get cooked are the tatties, everything else will just get munched raw.

Can't beat this GYO lark can you.
