Title: cabbages and wasps
Post by: Mrs Ava on August 02, 2004, 18:15:56
This is a mix between edibles and wildlife.  Along with the trillion hoverflies at the allotment on Sunday, there were also a good billions wasps (I should know, got stung and it is itching like b*gger now!)  When weeding around my white cabbages I noticed one was covered in wasps, and when I daringly gave the cabbage a squeeze, the head, or ball, or well....cabbage..... felt soft!  So, what were the wasps doing and what have they done!  My poor cabbage!  I only had a few as I am the only one who loves cabbage!  Now I have one less. :'(

probably eating something-wasps are really a `benficial` beastie, until you make a mistake and leave too much sugar around and then they get a bit excited. I should know-I `missed` a couple of figs in the greenhouse and they are everywhere-but at least they are `regular` ;D
