My garlic have pointed cones on them. I am guessing they are seed heads.
Does that mean dig them up?
-
The seed heads are called "scapes"
They can be used for cooking lots of nice things.
Just cut or pull them off and leave the garlic in the ground.

They're delicious.

oh gawd, my neighbour told me to dig them up and i have. can i shove them back in its only been half an hour???
-
How big are the bulbs? I think I'd dry them off and use them once the foliage has died back. Nest time, just pick off the flower buds; they're good in stirfries.
-
I must have a munch on these flower heads everyone keeps saying how good they are,as i have about 30 can they be stored in some way??
-
No they'd dry out and go hard, although I suppose you could freeze them. I cut the whole stalk as soon as I see them, chop it up and add to stir fry.

ill try freezing them if it doesnt work then no loss
