Still a few weeks to go here, manics! IIRC, you fleeced/cloched yours, is that right?

That's made a huge difference then, I'd expect us to be a week or so ahead of you down here... so a good month, perhaps, ahead from cloching? Now, I remember someone on here saying not to bother with cloche's on strawbs... and me arguing... I'll go'n sit in the smug corner now.  ;D

I've had a few from a couple of plants, but I think they will all go into hibernation after todays cold wind and rain!

Manic the answer to your question is NO, (very envious.) Daughter bought me 6 plants last year but didn't get any results due to the weather. I did pot quite a few runners and this year they are in a raised bed, lots of flowers so here's hoping. Protected by one of Lidl's mosquito nets  ;D I just love them

My OH says there are tons of strawberries on the plants, this being their 2nd year.  Loads more than last year.  Still green at the moment, but looking good apparently.

For runners,  wait another few weeks, until after fruits are harvested, or near the end of their harvest.  Also check here:

I've got four different varieties: Alice, Florence, Honeyoye (spelling?!?) and a mystery variety that I was given. the mystery variety came from a friend at work. she planted them in her garden, then she dug them all up and put them into a tray and gave them to me. I planted them in a bit of spare space I had, then when I'd finished digging my strawberry and rhubarb bed I moved them again, in about March time. so they really should be sulking but I've had the most enormous crop of great big fat juicy strawberries on the whole site! in fact someone has even climbed into my plot and stolen some >:( picked my third big punnet full on Tuesday evening. I just wish I knew what variety they were ::) still, they're sending out loads of runners so I'm sorted for strawberries ;D the named varieties are tiny and a few are just starting to ripen.

That's mine all finished now,all grown in pots in the polytunnel.

Not bad considering the plants are 4 years old and I wasn't expecting much.
