Post by: milkybardave on May 25, 2008, 11:32:30
Just about to move house and have a weigela in flower, am I able to take a cutting to move to the new house (its too big to take with us)?

Not really the right time for cutting when it is in flower, unless you can find a blind stem.
They are as cheap as chips anyway to buy, so unless it has sentimental value, nip down to all those cheap little nurseries in Lymington that sell on the saturday market. You will pick one up for 30 bob.

Not really the right time but always worth trying cuttings.  Just the same if you are offered any cuttings - say YES PLEASE and give it a go whatever the time of year.  You will have to find shoots without flowers or remove any from your cutting.
