Title: Question about polytunnels
Post by: mrf94 on April 13, 2008, 21:46:25
Would it be a good or bad idea to put the foam insulation you buy for copper water pipes on the tunnel framework to help with chaffing,

And im assuming it will help with the tension.

Hi mrf94.
My 10 foot by 10 foot Polytunnel, came with hot spot tape, which you stick to the out facing side of the poles, the plastic sheeting sits on the top of that.
Its not the chaffing you have to worry about just the heat from the poles when the sun gets up, it weakens the plastic that comes into contact with the bare poles.
 Hope that helps.
