Title: White spots on potatoes
Post by: Lavender on July 14, 2004, 21:48:37
Help.  Just dug up another row of potatoes (I think they are Pentland Javelin) and they're covered in white spots which rub off - no damage to skin or flesh.  There's a fair bit of slug damage now (the potatoes are too big for earlies).  It's rained pretty much every day here for at least three weeks - anything to do with it?  I'm clueless.

I had this, also on Pentland Javelin, I thought it was perhaps some form of scab?

Hasn't affected the taste though!!

Thanks everybody for your help.  It seems to be washing off easily rather than attached to the potato, so maybe its early stages of some kind of scab.  Long as it's not gonna poison us all, it'll be fine  ;D  I'll just dig up the rest before the slugs get any more!
