Title: How do ranunculus grow?
Post by: Common_Clay on January 17, 2008, 23:00:13
Hi,
Can anybody please tell me how ranunculus grow; do they have one main flower per bulb like gladioli, or do they grow more of a bush from one bulb with lots of flowers like dahlias? I'm trying to work out how many to buy!
  Many thanks  :)

Hi
Do you mean the double roselike ones that come in red and yellow .
If so they do grow a bit like dahlias only they are much smaller maybe to 2ft with five six flowers on each. The bulbs are usually about 2cm across and look like claws.
They are vey pretty but a bit tender, so ive got mine either in pots or in a sheltered corner.
good luck

Thanks a lot for the advice, yes, they're the ones I mean. Right, tender, noted!
