Title: 'Around the World' seed swap
Post by: Amazin on January 03, 2008, 15:28:28
Hands up anyone who fancies taking part in this pass the parcel - since most of us can only dream of jetting off somewhere fab at this time of year, why not let our seeds do it for us!

The idea is to include seeds with place names, like California Wonder peppers, or Russian Giant sunflowers, or even named types, such as French Beans (regardless of variety). Doesn't have to be a country, can be a town, or even a region (such as Tomato Sub-Arctic Plenty).

Anyone interested, PM me - in under 80 days, please!

 ;D

You're welcome (I'm blushing now). Hey, does that count? Camden Beetroot!

I think I should widen this to include people's own saved seed, so long as they label it with their location of growing (e.g. PSB Early - Cotswold strain!)

Okay folks, I've closed the list and am preparing the seeds for postage - looks like it might need something between A5 and A4 size so I may have to improvise. I'll get back to you all at a more respectable hour with the final details.

I'm SO looking forward to this (big kid, really) - hope you are too.

Okay folks, passengers now boarding at gate A4A are :

Blue Bird
bupster
elsie
norfolklass
purple sprouting
Riffster
ruud
Suzanne
Tinkie_Bear
Toms Lottie

As you can see, the passenger list is in alphabetical order - this is not the order for the post list though, just to keep you guessing (evil, I know).
Please let us all know on this thread when the parcel arrives and departs your particular shores, and give us a nice cryptic clue as to where it's headed next.

The first port of call is: One of Singalonga Max's favourite springtime destinations!

Right then, bottle suitably smashed against the side, hankies fluttering in the breeze, and OFF WE GO!

Hi Everybody,

I have no idea where the ship is or when it will get to me but to speed up the visit I have prepared all the stores I wish to put onboard but I have a quick question.  With all the vegetable seeds I have parceled up a few flower seeds, some are edible and some are just pretty but no doubt the creatures will like them.  Are these OK to go in or not?  I have never done a seed swap before so I am unsure of the rules.

Please advise, Bon Voyage :-)

Helen

We'll take all passengers, no probs. The original parcel includes fruit, veg, herbs and flowers. The only requirement is they must all have place names in the titles.    :)
