1 Is this(me being only a lad and not knowing such things ::)) a Kissing gate?

 2 Whats it doing on a allotment ???.

 3 And should i bring it up at the next AGM, as ya never(we don't need any more birds n bees thank you :-[) know where it will lead. :o

That's a lytch gate, or a small semblance of one. Originally found at entrance to churches. Was used to rest coffin out of the rain while pallbearers waited to enter for service.

It looks like one the sort of little roof they put over a well to me......not my taste but each to their own! ;D

If you can find a willing (and suitable) candidate, I see no reason why you shouldn't use it as a kissing gate.  As long as you are not blocking the entrance or exit of anyone else, and there are no Health and Safety issues to be taken into consideration.
