Title: Flying ants
Post by: Yorkshire Lass on August 01, 2007, 11:59:26
Any idea how to get rid of flying ants? Is ordinary ant powder as good as anything now we've found the nest?  We can't go out on the garden once they start flying around,  >:(

If you've found the nest then I would recommend a kettle of boiling water.

It's that time of year when the temperature is right and the wind has dropped, out come the flying ants. I do not know where they fly to. Not very far around here as I cannot see the sky for seagulls who are having a really good feast.

I have a couple of blackbirds which spend hours sitting in front of the ants` nest waiting for the winged queens to come out for dinner.
