Title: aubs and pepper flowers
Post by: aquilegia on June 10, 2004, 09:24:59
There are flowers on my aubergines and peppers. Do they need to be pollinated by insects or should I tap them like toms?

I'm so excited - last year my aubs didn't even flower!

They are insect-pollinated, but I have been paintbrushing mine as I am not convinced any insects know that they are there!

I am growing two pepper plants indoors, one of them has a 3 1/2 inch long pepper on it already. But I didn't water it one night and all its little baby pepper friends dropped off :-( so remember to keep your plants well watered!!

I didn't pollinate my redskin peppers, and they've got baby peppers ok.  :D

But nothing yet with the flowering chillis, so perhaps I should be paintbrushing them.

Hurrah for your flowers Aqui.  :)

Shame about your baby peppers Tenuse.  :'(
