We have a little pet bird on the allotment, it is lovely and not shy. He hops to within a foot of us and watches what we do, he hops around the freshly dug soil and pecks at it!
I am trying to identify it, but am failing! I have looked online, and in books but they dont really help.
It looks similar to a song thrush, but it has yellow flecks with a brown background on it's chest. Its back is brown.
Can anyone suggest what I can look up to see what it might be.
Thanks,
Sue

Sounds as though it could be a young blackbird.

Sounds like an immature Robin, not many birds would do that apart from the Robin and maybe a blackbird.
