Title: Transplanting Parsnips

Hi all

Can this be done easily?, as I've read that they don't like to be moved.

I have a very small raised bed in the garden, with two short rows of parsnips (sown direct, with a great germination rate), which were inter sown with radishes, I've just pulled the last of the radishes and would like to thin out the parsnips and move them into this space to maximise my crop.

All advice eagerly received...

I think it will depend on how well-developed they already are.

We transplant parsnips successfully, but they are sown thinly and germinated in sowing compost in a short length of guttering, then planted out when they are still quite small.

I'd risk it, it's either that or the compost heap ..I hope it works, I uprooted one of mine that had fallen in with the mouli radish so transplanted it  :)
