Title: a case of mistaken identity
Post by: manicscousers on May 01, 2007, 19:56:24
I thought these were dicentra seedlings, now I've no idea, they could be weeds!!  :o
the flower is a small, pale pink, primrose type shape..I thought I had a piccy of the flower but it hasn't come out..can you tell what it is from the leaves or something?
thanks  :)
by the way, the stems are red

Which one do you mean, the vinca or the cranesbill?

know the vinca, ..it's the pretty feathery plant at the front I don't recognise, is it a cranesbill?..they spontaneously appeared in the garden so I potted them up for the sale  :)
sorry, there's two of them

It does look like a hardy Geranium; any idea what it looks like in flower?

very small pale pink flower, shaped a bit like a primrose, you can just see one in the picture ..what I can't understand, they were both growing under the hazel bush, we have no geraniums in the garden..there are two different dicentra there, they even look a bit like one of them but the flower's different..I'll try to get a flower picture tomorrow..I can't sell them unless i know what they are  :( :)
also, they're rather a sprawling habit  ???

Is it herb Robert? http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/publicworks/pdf/weeds/herb_robert2.pdf . Don't worry; it's not a noxious weed in the UK, just a rather pleasant native flower.
