which direction is preferable for nestboxes when putting up ? And how far apart should multiple boxes be (for tits for example)?

Its a bit late for this year, best time is before January, February but its best to face North or East, not into direct sunlight and not into the windy West.  My boxes are all facing South East and sheltered somewhat so that they get the early morning sun but not the midday sun!!  Hope that makes sense. Just think of the poor birds cooking in direct sunlight.

Space them quite a distance apart.
