My Tony's getting addicted to bargain hunting. I thought it was just me. He went to Homebase this afternoon for some potting compost. Came home all excited. He had seen a mini greenhouse that had been on show outside and actually asked the manager how much he could have it for. He wanted £20," Will have to go and fetch the wife "said Tony. Took me and it was great only it only had 1 of the shelves in instead of 4. When we got back inside the store I saw another one in a dirty box so I sent Tony to ask the bloke how much he wanted for that 1. being as the box was dirty. £20 says he. Not bad for a £39 gh. We had been to wilkies this mornin task if the one we had ordered had come yet. It hadn't come. This one looks a much better product. Will post a pic when its up

here it is with and without clothes

Ah well, so it was a waste of my time when I wrote in a previous post about keeping his wallet shut then? Shirl that looks a good buiy :)
Lorna.

they never learn do they( thank goodness)
-
Nice one Shirl! (OH I mean....the 'house is OK too) ;D
-
That's the heavy duty frostproof cover you've got there, Shirl - much tougher than the clear plastic. And you can buy them separately, too. I've now got four of these mini gs (every time I see a bargain...), two with those covers, two plain, and I'm going to get those covers for the other two!
I should really start growing stuff soon...
;D

I love a bargain & that looks like a good one - maybe I should try my local Homebase.
-
maybe you can help
is there details in there on how to get a replacement cover??
I cant find one to replace the 4 tier mini-greenhouse i bought last year.
-
Try these:

Also, if you have a Robert Dyas nearby, they get their replacement covers in round about now.
-
Make sure you get one the right width. If you send me the size, I just might have one going.
-
cool i have already bought the wrong one :'(
i think its just over 3ft but will measure tomorrow as the temps hovering at freezing and i dont think my jimjams will keep me warm enough ;)
I am sure its the same one shirlton has and she might have the measureents to hand
-
If it's that wide, mine won't fit. You'll probably need the widest fitting.
-
Ooh, can I leap on the back of that offer to cam7 and measure mine tomorrow and let you know then, Robert? Reckon mine's a bit narrower than that and the previous cover has been shredded this winter.
-
I'll get my spare from the allotment, and the first person to need the right size can have it.
-
I'm sure I saw the replacement covers in homebase. Don't know how much they were though.the number of the 4 tier grow rack is 585359. Hope that will help. We are going to put it in the GH today. It means that 1 of Tony's benches will have to go into the other GH
-
Homebase tell me that they dont sell the covers seperatly and that there should be details inside of where you can get the cover from.
I have seen replacement covers for there large walk in greenhouse but i dont think that would last more than 5 min before blowing away.
-
Looks like a super barg shirlton! I must keep my eye out for one, kitchen just isn't big enough for all the seeds I want to plant :o ;D
-
I like the look of th walk in hexagonal job at Wilko's for £40 but I'm not sure that it wouldn't blow away at the moment!
:-\
-
just a note that morrisons supermarkets do a walk in 3 tier (i believe its 3) one for.... wait for it..... 25 great british pounds! ;D
however, they are not on display so cannot comment on the thickness of the plastic.

You two have to keep in mind that it's our first year of allotment gardening for a few years so we are both very eager (probably too bl***dy eager) Not only that . We need something to keep us both sane at the moment. Gardening is just the job for doing that. I have only planted things that are able to withstand a bit of cold. Just hope it doesn't get too cold for the little dears
