Looks like you mean business Grant....
;D
-
Just pumpkins then? :)
-
So will you be entering the giant pumpkin competition? You certainly look like scary competition!!!
cj :)
-
I'me going for the smallest, there I stand a chance me thinks XX Jeannine
-
Dont be so sure about that!
"Evil laugh"
I think you may be surprised to see me sweep that award away from you.
cj :)
-
Oh that sound a challenge, well you are on!!! Bet I beat you on this one, just bet you bet ya XX Jeannine
-
OK, you're on. I'm off to buy some subsoil and a glass fronted fridge.......
cj :)
-
Maybe we should do this officially as a real competition XX Jeannine
-
bet I could beat you if I grow a whopper like this again
-
Oh my goodness GP, it makes my pumpkin set up look so inferior :-[
Mind you, ive got exactly the same solar lights from Wilkies, so i take it they are an necessary must, for the scientific method you have? :P ;D
Maybe I am onto a winner after all ;) :D
-
Lol yeah you got me lol
The solar lights are just there for show lol
Grant
-
Oh Grant please dont tell me that :'(
I was beginning to think I had cracked the code for some whoppers this year ;D
-
Dont let him fool you Honeybee. It is a well known fact to all pumpkin growers, that the type of solar light GP has creates a magnetic field of positive pumpkin ions , which enter the skin and make the flesh expand at a rapid rate. This is the reason that he only has 2, as any more and the skin couldnt cope and would explode. ;)

-
I just knew it cj....oh what a kidder that Grant is :D
Us girls are onto his secrets eh? ;)
*Gets tape meausure at the ready* ;D
-
Manic, that looks more like squash, I am not convinced it would count for the smallest, anyway it's not orange!! Objection raised here. XX Jeannine
-
it was the last of the butternut, you're right, I concede
-
Thank you for owning up!!! So who os going for the smallest. XX Jeannine
-
Would it not be possible just to pick the pumpkin as soon as the immature fruit forms behind the flower? I have no idea, as I have never grown pumpkin before, only squash. At what stage do the pumpkins turn orange?
Sorry for the daft questions, but I really have no idea whan it comes to pumpkins ???
cj :)
-
I think you may have to expand your patch as they grow. To say...... the entire garden ;D
-
No Caroline that won't work, it would be immature and perish and it would not be the right colour.Good try though . I guess you could starve it or cut off it's water supply. I wonder what punishment you would get for slowly murdering an infant pumpkin.XX Jeannine
-
Pumpkinicide. ;D ;D
-
I'd plead insanity and get away with it ;D
cj :)
