Title: Badger damage - help !
Post by: ambermoon on March 13, 2007, 22:56:47
Help, the badgers love my onions ! Last year whenever my onions reached a promising size and we were waiting another week or so for them to mature, the badger would get there first , dig them up and have them for his tea.  He would eat the tops off and spit the rest out.  I am going to buy him some toothpast for his onion breath.  Any tips on how to keep the badgers off our plot  { legally,as we are animal lovers).   sorry you may have read this already on another forum, but I am new and am only just getting the hang of posting  :-[

you could always try fencing, but if i had a badger near my plot they could eat all they wanted.

I agree fencing as you would for a fox or rabbit.
Badgers are protected pity they are having fun with your plot, funny thing the liking for onions.
