unfortunately because the package is 'fatter' postage up a little to £1.70, but still a fantastic bargain and lots of fun ....

good question ....

Weight was 365 grms, sent 1st class Packet rate £1.70 (500 grms)
i.e. 'over' 353 mm (L) x 250 mm (W)  x 25 mm (D)

How long do we wait before we declare PTP 4 'lost in action'  :(

Don't panic!!... ;)

Parcel arrived safely with coznbob and it either has gone, or is about to go off, to the next person, who is in Dorest I beleive ;)

On the subject of being lost in the post, the royal mail website says to allow 15 days before reporting anything missing...

Here I was monitoring No. 3 and I get home last night and I have one from List 4.  Anyway it has safely landed and I had an absolutely wonderfuyl time rifling through it - some lovely choices.

Now on its way to L in Middx this afternoon.  I had to get a bigger envelope so hope that it fits through the mailbox flap.

Enjoy

Okay, to try to clear up any confusion... as it was so popular again I sent two parcels off at the same time: parcel 3 and parcel 4.  (I thought if I kept it to one list of 24 people it would take too long to go around everyone.)

So, in ALPHABETICAL order the people down for each parcel are as below.  However to keep you guessing as to when you're going to get to open it (a bit like a real pass the parcel ;)) this is not the order it is going to be sent round ;D

Parcel 3:

daisymay
flowerlady
glow777
hazelize
Jeannine
Marymary
MrsKP
princescruffster
purple sprouting
Rhubarb Thrasher
Sparkly
tulippa

and

Parcel 4:

barkingdog
blisters
cambourne7
coznbob
flossie
Jitterbug
knbsallotment
mikey
Rosyred
sally_cinnamon
suzanne
sweet-pea

Hope that helps people keep track of which parcel they should be looking out for.

Oh, and I posted it 2nd class I'm afraid without thinking, so don't panic if it takes a few extra days to reach it's next destination.

Hmmm, I am having postal issues down here. Jeannines parcel never arrived, and pass the parcel has been "returned to sender." Will send out again this morning, and think I will send recorded delivery, so hopefully it will get to you. Don't know what's going on down here at the moment. Several items I'm waiting for haven't arrived yet either!

Hi Sally_Cinnamon,

I will pop your seeds in with the package so it saves a stamp :)

But there are lots of chillis in there already

No idea either.  So I think that narrows down the original owner to one of:

mikey
coznbob
Jitterbug
Rosyred
blisters
sweet-pea
knbsallotment
flossie

'Fess up someone, the suspense is killing me!  I mean.... NOTHING back from google!! :o  How can that be?!? ???

Title: Re: "pass the parcel" number 4...

Well this is just me thinking logically, but I think it is a companies stock number and my best guess it is coriander/cilantro seeds, the number  1740 will be the ordering number, therefore cor cil se 1740 Just a thought XX Jeannine
Title: Re: "pass the parcel" number 4...
Post by: CityChick on April 14, 2007, 07:37:34
Oooo, clever - I think you might have it there Jeannine :D

Mr Fothergills has coriander with a code of 1740!!

http://fothergills.co.uk/en/coriander-cilantro-for-leaf-1740.aspx

and here:

http://www.thegardensuperstore.co.uk/acatalog/Herb_Seeds.html

Do they look like coriander seeds?

Post by: Jeannine on April 14, 2007, 08:46:57
Really,it just seemed logical,if  whoever has the packet and opens it  they will have a very dictinctive smell. It sound like it is the  Mr. F's one though, that is a heck of a coincidence. XX Jeannine

Parcel on its way to Warwickshire!  Posted first class to try to make up for the delay in me posting it off again - SORRY!  :-[

Oh yeah, I opened the 1740 mystery packet and it does smell and look like coriander, only the seeds are quite small....
