Title: Plant Labels
Post by: gillianbc on May 04, 2004, 14:17:44
What can I make plant labels from ?  I seem to use (and lose) hundreds of the 4" stick in ones.  I tried making them from milk cartons but too wobbly to stick in.

I cut up bubble bath bottles. They are sturdy enough. Margarine or ice cream tubs, plastic drinks bottles, etc seem to work too. Whatever you have to hand, really.

The only trouble with my see-through labels is sometimes it's hard to find the label!

I use plassy milk bottles.  We get through a 4 pinter almost daily, good bones in this house you know, and they make quite sturdy labels.  I also use icecream tubs and olivio tubs.  Have used wooden lolly sticks, which is great, til they get wet!  :-[

Our drinks stirrers are plastic things that look like a lollipop stick - just about perfect, and slightly roughened on one side which makes the writing last longer.

Another great idea.  I use (and lose) so many labels and I hate having to pay for such things.
