Bottle Top Waterers  http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!8489
Turn a plastic drinks bottle (from 500ml to 3 litre) into a watering can for plants or for use when ironing.
£1.99

Ref 8489

Pack of 4 - 2 fine rose, 1 medium, 1 precision squirter.

I have these and they are brilliant for watering seeds.

Thanks for that information, I've sent for a set and saved on the handling charge. ;)

I've had mine for a few years now (from Buckingham nurseries) - wouldn't be without 'em, especially for watering multi-stacked seed trays on windowsills!

It may just be me but I find that these tops do not work on all sorts of plastic bottles.  They always seem to leak and/or deliver a big gush of water which isn't very helpful with seedlings.   Best bottle seems to be plastic tonic water bottles - have never managed to get them to work properly or fit evian water bottles or coke bottles.

Mine don't fit tight on plastic bottles so I wrapped a couple of layers of PTFE around the thread.
Also cut a hole in a bigger bottle top and glued the waterer into it... :D

Had a set for a few years now. They work well on a tonic bottle (no shortage of these ;D) But I did try them on the large 2litre lemonade bottles but they are not as good - the bottles are not rigid enough when they are nearing empty.

So if you have glued the top on kenkew how do you refill the bottle  ???

Sorry !!!!
Now that I have read your post properley I see that you have glued the waterer into
a hole in THE ORIGINAL BOTTLE TOP.
Excellent idea

Or of course you could save even more money by drilling a couple of small holes in the original bottle tops.

Did that too, Qizz....probably the better option to be honest. We get milk in plastic bottles and once you get the test holes in the right place and of the right size they work good...and there's no shortage of waterers once you get a stock on tap.
Sorry, couldn't resist that one! :D

Emaggie, thanks for posting this, i saw your link earlier today so popped into lakeland whilst shopping & picked myself up a pack, thereby saving myself any postage costs at all!  Well chuffed and my seeds are now happily drinking away!  x

I just received a set through the post and thought I would add that not only do they fit on 2L lemonade bottles, but they also fit on the 2L cider bottles, so I now have another excuse for buying them until the missus finds out about the lemonade bottles that is!  ::)
