Title: DIY Drip feed
Post by: kenkew on April 25, 2004, 19:49:07
OK! I've got one working at the plot but I'll have to play with it quite a bit to get it just right. Feed is a 30 gall container which will be topped up with rainwater. Feed will be to my DIY greenhouse for tom's and melons. Still working on improving this, but has anyone set-up a drip feed system that relies on gravity alone?

Same as for 'glug bottles'? With the outlet just touching the feed water level, it should work the same??

Oh, that probably assumes a sealed supply tank?

But remember the consumption rate! How long is your holiday? = Tim

(Holiday? What's one of them? )It's not length of time away that concerns me, Tim. It's keeping the soil moist for my under-cover Tom's and possibly melons. Even two days away in hot weather could be a disaster. I'll have to have a look at an engineering place for connectors that will take me from 5/8ths bore to 3/8ths. Maybe a fish tank air tap at juctions will suffice as a drip feed. I'll play and report!
