I have a lovely looking bee, making a nest in my ground! He/she loooks rather like a bumble bee, but without the stripes, and has a red fluffy bottom ;D Anyone know what it could bee? (sorry had to bee said ;)) DP

Sorry, was a bit beefuddled there for minute (huge apologies ;D) but think it might be what's known as Rock Bumble Bee, no stripes and red bottom, common in Europe Nests underground, in piles of stones, rock crevices, etc!
Coo, don't half sound knowledgeable, don't I? Giggles, just looked in me book! ;D ;D ;D

MB is right Doris and it's other name (as far as I know) is the Large Red Tailed Bumble bee.
I have them nesting in my alpine garden soil.
We just weed around them and they're no bother.
I think they're rather BEEutiful
