Title: plant id... Look like mint without the minty taste or smell
Post by: dgillings on October 15, 2006, 09:15:55
Sorry no picture, left the camera at home. But there is a plant growing on the allotment that I'm clearing that looks like mint, but has no smell and it has white flowers around the stem... Any ideas what it is?

I might have suggested Lammium, white dead nettle.

So would I, Dad - until Wife said that the flowers were pink. Now I note album in 'the book'.

I think it's the more likely bet.

There are lotsof different lamiums, some of mine have white fowers, but I would say the leaves are bigger than mint. But as you say, balm would hsve a scent.

I've got a lot of Lamium album....white dead nettle growing in amongst the stinging nettle on my plot.
