Title: More for Less
Post by: Mimi on April 12, 2004, 14:16:00
Ime not claiming to be any expert veggie grower, but thought that those that are, may be interested in an article by Bob Flowerdew, in this weeks Amateur Gardener.  Titled "more for less", it goes on to describe how you can split a seed potato tuber, by cutting one with a lot of eyes in half and plant both as long as they are a decent size.  Interesting and money saving........

Yes, great if you can buy just a few at a time, rather than the 3-6 kilos of each type on mail prder. I end up giving spares away. = Tim

Some of the Pentland Javelin I had were huge and covered in 'chits', so I cut them in two.  I guess spuds are the only thing you can really do that with.
