Thanks for sharing that, I know what you mean by looking after it.  Here is a picture of my one and only hubbard squash which is now safely peeled, blanched and frozen.  Oops -- seem to have lost my attachment button - will get hold of Dan and get it posted....  Watch this space ....

I'm watching! (http://bestsmileys.com/eyes/13.gif)
I can't believe how much my squash is still growing - it must have doubled in size since I took that photo, looking forward to your pic.

Mine this year were a case of be very careful what you wish for!

Last year I got 1 from 2 plants. This year, I
planted six, thinking if I get 1 per, I'd be happy.

Ooops.

That's "only" 12 of them. One was donated, two are still on the plot. And I still have no idea what that bright orange squash is. Cross between a marrow and a butternut I think. It was a volunteer plant from the compost heap!

(Yes, I know, the first four BNS I picked are now ringfenced by computer bits as hubby rebuilds a PC!)

I thought I'd done well - till I heard of someone with 16 off 3 plants, all bar one over 4lb, and one over 8lb.

I want to know what he was feeding them!!!

I've still only got the one but it's enormous - the size of a good sized marrow.  I shall weigh it when I harvest it but at the moment I'm leaving it in the hope it will ripen some more.
