Title: Wanted - midsleeper cabin bed herts/beds/bucks area
Post by: EmmaLou on August 13, 2006, 19:47:44
Hi! - just wondering if anyone in the Herts/Beds/Bucks area has a midsleeper cabin bed for sale/for free?

My daughter has been sleeping on a futon mattress on the floor since she outgrew her cot. She is now 3 and I have promised her a real bed now she is out of nappies!

I have tried bidding on ebay, but never manage to win. Have also thought about Argos, but they have a 28 day waiting time. Also all too expensive!

Please help me! Made mistake of promising to 3 year old - now being hassled by her everyday! lol ;D

I can collect and dismantle.

Many thanks!

Emma

Emmalou,

I've got one you can have, provided that i can find the bag of screws and fixings. Was going to put it in my local paper for £30.

It's whitewashed pine & it's from Argos. Look on page 330 of the new green Argos catalogue and it's in there. It's just the basic model - no slide or tower!

Haven't got the tent curtains either (sorry!)

My parents live in Old Welwyn & I'm going up there on Monday evening to collect my Mum. I could drop the bed up to them if you are interested.

Let me know.

Hi Tabbycat

Thank you for the offer. We would have loved one of those beds for her, but what we are really after are the ones with storage underneath. Her room is so tiny!

Thanks again. :)

No worries EmmaLou,

Can identify with the storage issue - my two think the bedroom floor is the ideal place to store everything they own. :)

Good luck with the bed search

I'm still after one of these if anyone has one available.

Something similar to this Argos item is what we are after:

EmmaLou,

Try Focus DIY. My friend just got one from there and it looks very very similar to the one in your picture. I think she said it cost her £90 - not sure on this - it's late and my brain is shutting down. ;D

I got bunkbeds from there last year and they cost me just £50! Fantastic price as we only needed them whilst we were camping out at my OH's parents when the extension was being built.

EmmaLou -- have you got a Freecycle group based near you? If Freecycle's new to you, visit www.freecycle.org for the HQ thing, and you'll be able to find out there where your nearest is.

Cabin midsleepers come up reasonably often because kids grow out of them and want full-size loft beds.

Good luck. PM me if what I've said above is as clear as mud  ;D

Oh dear EmmaLou... I know what you mean  :-\  -- perhaps a 'Wanted' notice on Freecycle, then? Or have you already tried that?
