Whatever the hose, don't forget to measure their flow rate so that you can apply a useful & not wasteful amount.

A typical rate is 1 gal/ft/hr.

Unfortunately not at ours!

None at all, sadly. Loks like a good idea though, might have to invest.

found another site on ebay, 2 for £2 +pp

I have bought and tried one of these, it is less of a soaker but more of a sprinkler hose. Well worth buying and trying out though.

It's a 'soaker' if you turn it upside down??

On our allotment we are allowed to use a hose as long as it is hand held-I mention this as there was a lot of miscommunication on this subject and our committee chairman clarified the position with the council yesterday

I appreciate that Tim but the way this particular hose is made it takes an age to make sure it is positioned right to act as a soaker hose and even then it still sprays in certain areas upwards. Still a good buy for 99p.

I do have a few specialist soaker hoses which are fantastic especially when run around spuds.
