Title: Is my end rotting?
Post by: Two Choices on July 10, 2006, 20:38:39
My Beefsteak Toms are approx 3 inches diameter and today I discovered that some have a coffee coloured brown circle the size of a ten pence piece opposite the stalk. Any suggestions??  having looked through the books I think it may be blossom end rot.  Can I be cured?

If the ten p sized patch is continous then yes you have BER but it shouldn't affect the other trusses if you cure the problem...
Many beefsteaks develop a large dimple around the blossom end with a brownish circle round the edge... that's normal.

Thanks Mike for the useful link and Saddad for the info on Beefsteaks. It's the first year I've grown them.
