Title: root aphids
Post by: dandelion on June 07, 2006, 11:57:03
I noticed some grey-ish root aphids on my Early Nantes carrots :(. Only the carrots at the end of the row were affected and I pulled them up.  I'm not too worried about the carrots; I'm not growing many and I haven't protected them from carrot root fly so I'm expecting some losses anyway.

However, I have plenty of lettuces growing nearby and I know root aphids can make these wilt very quickly. Would the aphids on my carrots be the same that can attack lettuces?

Not sure, I know some aphids are very crop specific...

I haven't seen any of them anymore. Touch wood...
