Title: guttering
Post by: bumble on March 15, 2004, 10:21:29
I have been reading about starting off seeds in guttering and then sliding them into the ground when ready - does anyone know of this way of planting? :-\

Hi
Seen it in books and on TV. Never tried it myself- it looks quite difficult to slide out neatly. Seen it used on TV for lettuces in particular. I will stick with toilet rolls and other recycled items for pots I think.

I've heard if you have problems with slugs it's a good way to start peas off. It gives them a chance to grow large enough to stand a fighting chance against the slugs

Used this method quite a bit. I think I gave my twopenny-worth elsewhere. Do a search. If you don't find info I'll give you my bit again.
