Title: Pinching out peas

Hi there

I wonder if anyone can tell me if I was right to pinch out the main stem of my sugar snap peas.  I suddenly had this dreadful thought that I was suppose to have done it to the sweet peas not the sugar snap ones?? :-[

I figure if I pinched out the growing tip how on earth will it be able to climb and become a strong plant.
