Title: Brassica Collars
Post by: daisydoo on March 10, 2006, 17:49:46
I have some old vinyl flooring to dispose of. Would this be a suitable material to make brassica collars?  :-\  Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Are brassica collars mandatory or advisable? Will cardboard do or does it need to be more permanent?

I've never used them for cabbage or broccoli, but might just have had good luck with soil/weather. So they're not mandatory - what about peeking over the fence to see what do other growers in your immediate neighbourhood do  ;)

Shook his head when he saw me planting out broccoli last spring! LOL But we enjoyed eating the produce. ;)
