Title: mobile phone question..?
Post by: undercarriage plan on December 14, 2005, 17:42:20
I know this is the puter bit, but not sure where to post this. I have a mobile phone and can take pics on it, but can you transfer pics onto PC? If so how? I've read the instruction booklet, and it goes into great detail about taking pics, saving pics etc, but can't find owt on whether can transfer them. It's a Samsung SGH-E720. The only ports it has seems to be for headphones and charger. Thanks! Lottie

http://www.samsung.com/download/Model_Select.aspx?type=Mobile%20Phone&typecode=18&subtype=Mobile%20Phone&subtypecode=1805&model=SGH-E720&fileType=SW

This one for the user manual

check out the 'using bluetooth' section.

And you may need one of these for the PC ...

Del Boy  .. sorry  ..Del Gal, I get a bit confuffled sometimes .. I've had a few PMs about bLottie, and I realise that I've been right out of order  (how unusual ! ) So, I'm now adopting a policy of "help the inflicted" I accept that it will take some time, it's not going to be resolved overnight .. just sit  down bLottie, we can help you get over this problem  .. take 2 of these pink pills 3 times a day  ... and learn how to roll green cigarettes  *hic*

You pop it in a spare USB port  ( well, you could hardly stick it in a used one I suppose !  :( ) and it allows mobile phones, among other things, to communicate directly with the computer.

Lottie and others ... Be  aware of   'Bluesnarfing'  ::)  On some blue tooth phones. Also Bluejacking ::)  Oh Heck    .. Jim

Title: Re: mobile phone question..?
Post by: AikenDrum on December 17, 2005, 13:02:37
"Bluejacking" can only happen if you leave the bluetooth function on when you're out and about. You shouldn't do that anyway as it drains the battery quicker. Unless of course you use one of those daft bluetooth headsets !     ;D
Title: Re: mobile phone question..?
Post by: undercarriage plan on December 17, 2005, 13:26:14
Ok, whoah!!! What's blue snarfing? Blue jacking? And what's the obssession with them all being blue?  ??? Why not Pink snarfling? Or purple, I like purple.....PLease explain to blue tooth confused person, and should I not use the lead thingy and just...oh dear...I'm watching this fly over my head at  the speed of light!!!

??? ??? ??? :P :'( ;D

Lottie ( see, no "b" ! ) bluetooth is just another form of wireless communication between various suitably equiped devices e.g. computers, including laptops, phones, pockets PCs,and PDAs etc.
Title: Re: mobile phone question..?
Post by: undercarriage plan on December 17, 2005, 14:31:57
no "b" appreciated Aiken!! But what's snarfing then? And why would one want to snarf in the first place?  ???

Lottie, it's way of "hacking" into other bluetooth phones and sending/stealing data to or from them.
