Well, am dancing with joy here!! Just got back from School strokey beard meeting, and have finally persuaded the Head and Governors to give our Gardening CLub a lovely big piece of land to make a kitchen garden, and have got the go ahead to organise a Garden raising weekend!! Whehay! Where poor badgered parents come in for the day/weekend and clear it all ready for the little darlings to plant up! Even got them to set the date, will be fobbed off no more!! Am so chuffed, have been trying for months..... ;D ;D ;D

One of those things that I am finding very difficult to fit in, but one of the things I would like to fit in most.

Must be harder for you cos I imagine you have fairly daunting work schedule. Best way, in my book anyway, is to close eyes and jump in! Subtley ask Parents who likes gardening, then put them down as helpers, ;D just start club, make huge announcements, then hide for few weeks in shed and take it from there. We've been growing veg in 1ft dirt round the edge of school!! Rather badly, I have to say, but it still grew...ish....kinda ::) ;D ;)

Lottie, I've been getting very angry letters from parents in Suffolk asking me to kill this thread ... they seem to think they have to participate in their childrens education, how should I respond ? :P

Thanks!! And yes, more work for me, though unpaid!!! Have had slow realization that I now have this event to plan for, and really not a clue as to plan "Events"! Can dig, yes, can point and say "shift that, please.." could be an interesting weekend....Must be mad! Aiken, you have no idea who I am, never heard of me .... she says whilst hurriedly booking ticket to Mongolia.... ;D

Aww thanks Lorna! Will take you up on that nearer the time! Am looking forward to it really, just not used to doing anything like it! I'm thinking of trying to tie it into a nighttime barn dance or summat, am still at pencil twizzling and gnawing stage!!! So if around in Feb, Lorna, bring a spade!! ;D ;D ;)

Lottie If we are working at the school maybe we will get school dinner???(Are they any good??) Have been hoovering, washing kitchen floor, dusting, polishing (UGH) but at least I keep glancing on here for a laugh.

Lottie. We will fix a date in the New Year. Won't be able to "toast" the project with my usual tipple cos I will be driving!!!! Lorna frantically looking up map to see if she will find her way.(Maybe John will lend me his sat/nav, oh blimey no cos that is a complicated bit of kit, includes car computer etc etc etc ;D)
