Title: Welcome to the party
Post by: Admin aka Dan on October 10, 2003, 13:38:20
Hi all,

Thought I'd put a party board in for the night.

Please enjoy - but remember to respect others.

Have a drink for me  :)

:'( boohoo.  I will have to miss this one as I will be living it up in Belfast for the weekend.  Maybe a Christmas shed party?  (hint hint  ;))

Have a large beetroot juice and parsnip chip for me!

Thankyou very much, Dan - most accommodating of you. You'll have to watch out, Lish, Ina, myself and a few of the other ladies may just have to show you what the patch behind the compost heap looks like if you keep looking after us like this - moderators from fields afar have been known to fall prey!!! ;)

Love, Palefire

Gosh, seems like a lot of people can't make it. Even Lish, the party beast has other commitments but...... we'll make up for it, the more goodies for the ones present right?

This is so neat, to have a page, just for the party. Thank you Dan, you really are a wiz.

I think we need to think up a name for our new shed. Even the communal shed at our allotment complex has a name: Konkel Boet. The word 'konkel' is a dialect word for ......... chewing the fat (I learned this saying on the beeb board haha) and boet is also local dialect for shed.

See you all here, well most of you anyway, tomorrow. Better get my Dutch lace cap starched and ironed and get the manure scraped off my wooden shoes. -Ina

Ina, we can't call this shed The Conker Boat....can we??

::) ;D 8)

I'm gutted that I'll miss the fun - sitting drearily in a real-life pub on a Saturday night just ain't gonna be the same ;) - but my friends are relying on me to keep them in order, you see. Lord knows what you lot will get up to without my calming influence...

I shan't be back until lunchtime-ish on Sunday, but promise I'll tippy-toe in here ever-so-quietly..cheers! Lish

Post by: tim on October 11, 2003, 12:02:17
Hoping to make it, but that depends on many things.

No fancy dress at my age - just a sheepskin flying jacket and white silk scarf to keep me warm en route. I'm sending you a photo of us, Ina, so that you will recognise me. Can't get away till very late, so decided to come in my first car ever - Wolesley Hornet - cost me £37.10.0 in 1941. Drink drive? You /know/ I don't - after all these years, it knows how to get me home!

All I can find in the line of wet stuff is a bottle each of 9 year old Wheat & Raisin, and Parsnip - still the best, I think.  - Tim

PS - If it's raining, may I use someone's black plastic sheeting to keep the car dry? It's an open cockpit thing.

Wotta smoothie, Ower Tim...!!! Will he offer you a spin in his motor after a glass or two of his rude-root wine, with the promise of a pair of black-market silk stockings (useful for tying in tomatoes, he'll tell you)...and what's the significance of the white silk scarf? Who is going to surrender to whom, I wonder...

So where is everyone. Perhaps they have not recovered from the party on the Beeb last week. Or maybe they are watching Football on Sky Tv. Anyway I am going to hide in a corner for a while, cos you know what this public outing does to me.
Title: Re: Welcome to the party

Ina, you are welcome to join me where ever you wish. But watch where you put those clogs. Funny that, Anne wore clogs as a child in the North-east of Lancashire, cos they were longer lasting than shoes.
Title: Re: Welcome to the party
Post by: ina on October 11, 2003, 23:37:29
Teresa, that was the stuff eric brought, it's the only bottle here, Tim took off with the other ones. I think they are all hiding behind the compost, drinking.

Post by: ina on October 11, 2003, 23:40:33
How did you get lost Stephan? Did you see the others hiding out? They've got the booze.
Actually Eric, in Holland you leave your clogs outside so not to worry.
Kind of a hassle refreshing the page, I lose where I'm at but who cares, I'm lost all the time.
Where's my pointy hat now?
Title: Re: Welcome to the party

Yeah I had a hard day, watching Anne scarifying the grass (with a machine) tired me out, it did. Btw those call ducks we got are LOUD. They quack non-stop. Except when you give them a slug or a cutworm. then they dabble it in their water before ingesting it. Then they quak again. And it is the female who is the loudest!

There may be a big scandal we hear of tomorrow RR. Bunch of people behind the compost with the fire brigade and the orchestra. Took a whole lot of bottles of home made wine there. Very quiet here so you haven't missed much.

Oh yes the peace and tranquility of the countryside. They have been harvesting the spuds and ploughing the fields and sowing the Winter wheat and cutting the hedges and muck-spreading. One 10 tonne tractor and trailer every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. Ah for the smell of pig muck and diesel. You can feel things growing. And boy can those sparrows cough.

Hey Gavin

Thought they were going to ban fireworks RSPCA
only for Nov 5 celebrations. Get feed up of suffering for a month solid and birthday parties through the year.
Got two dogs who go to pieces everytime they go off.

The traffic is only temporary. We do not get fireworks close by, but they have been shooting peasants (or something like that) all day so there have been plenty of bangs and shouts and whistle blowing and 4x4's.
You pack your kids off the Uni and just get used to the peace and they come home again. And they want Dad's taxi at all hours. Enough to make even me take to drink. I'll have a dry sherry please. Hows about that for risk taking?

Believe it or not we actually sold most of the damsons at a plant Garden Society meeting. The rest we froze in 4lb blocks to make jam with when we have the jars. Have not yet tried Doris's Damson cake as it is too hard to cut up the blocks.
Thanks for asking, the shingles have gone and and this time do not appear to have done any damage.
Oh and Anne made a few gallons of Damson wine. Should be good for next years Poets Day bash.
Grief that sherry has gone to my head. I shall have to go and lie down.
The electric wheelchair could well be necessary. Hic Woops.

btw, Lynne L. is trying to get on here, hope it works, you guys know her from the beeb board? She is stone sober so we'll have to do something about that

Hi Maggie, just start at the top of this page and it'll give you an idea. Weird stuff going on, all kinds of insinuations. Tricky thing here is that you have to klick the refresh button on your toolbar to see new postings and then a whole bunch come at once. Have a drink, plenty around and if we run out here, some guys took bottles behind the compost heap, having their private party leaving the girls alone in the shed. never mind, who needs them.

Seeing the Keyboard. I stand behind it, takea draw on me spliff. then as I blow a huge plume of smoke out into the air, I start playing a leonard cohen song on the keyboard,

If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
If you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner take my hand
Or if you want to strike me down in anger here I stand
I'm your man.

Ah the moons too bright
the chains too tight
The beast wont go to sleep
Ive been running throug these promises to you
That I made and could not keep
Ah but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby andI'll fall at your feet
AndI'd howl at your beauty like a dog on heat
And I'd claw at your heart and I'd tear at your sheet
Id say please please

I'm your man....

Instumental bit now and the song is a long long long song so I will leave you all wanting ;)

It by Leaonard Cohen and its called "I'm your man" and if you cant get your hubby out in the gardy doing a pole dance around the washing line to this song   then Divorce him, even if he comes up with that old chestnut "We aint got a washing line post", thats no excuse as I am sure Cerig would lend him a couple of puglocks and a sausage clip, but  make sure the pugs are aluminium, cuz they grease up better, the iron ones tend to rust they do and the rust color smears onto the skin. and I do speak from experience I do cuz I done an Iron one and when i finished I looked like I had been tangoed I did.   Gonna play me "Cheggars plays PoP" album now,..erm.. No iI isn't cuz I dont have a Cheggars album or CD or tape.. and if I did I wuldn't admit to it, I'd deny I ever had one, andI'd deny it like I iz denying it now, cuz I havent got one, sows there :)

Definate babble and have to be up at 6am forthe grand prix

VRRRRoooooOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM
