Title: Pumpkin disaster
Post by: spacehopper on September 19, 2005, 09:00:59
Oh dear. In my infinite wisdom (not) I decided to clear up the courgette and pumpkin plants that looked past it and had nothing on them. So I fork one up, and start to pull it to one side. While doing this, I notice a green football sized jack o lantern making its way towards me from the other side of the patch  :o

Other newbies beware!!

I'll try and ripen it at home. Hopefully it will be ok. On a more positive note, we had a fab pot of pumpkin soup at the weekend, delicious.  :)

If it was a good size then that's a relief  :)  I stupidly planted one with me spuds and I had a right job sorting out which was which when pulling me spuds yesterday  :)

Pumpkin soup is rather gorgeous isn't it?  It looks lovely in dark blue bowls  ;D
No, I don't normally colour match my food to my crockery  ;)

Oh I did that today.  Doesn't it make you just shout!  Some of mine went on...and on....and on...and on....  These were long green squashes, trombolino I think, but they were still quite small so I bought them home and am planning to make soup with all the babies later in the week.  So it isn't all bad!

I can understand how you could have done that C&B as mine have spread everywhere and are intertwined with my courgettes too. I think they would take over the whole plot if I let them.  I do like their big smiley orange faces, one of my lottie neighbours says they really cheer her up when she looks over to my plot.  :D busy_lizzie
