AAh!! How lovely Diane.  :D Thanks for letting us know!  I think there is always something magical about the first snow fall of the winter, (just like the "Carpenters" Christmas song).  :) Makes you feel really Christmassy.  Of course if it lasts after Christmas thats when it gets miserable. :( Not being a poor car driver though I don't have to put up with  the down side of all the icy roads, so can wallow in being sentimental about it. "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas"!  ;D busy_lizzie

Oh snow, love to see it comming down but it spooks me if I am driving in it. Love to see the garden covered in a thin layer always think mothernature has put the garden to bed for the winter. I am further south than Magpie but a white flutter on Xmas day makes it for me.

here's me thinking how weirdly warm it is for nearly december. only had one really cold day and that happened to be the day i spent standing outside taking photos of police and protesters at sedgefield and sadly no photos of world leaders...

my tree fern hasn't even started to die back yet and my wild rocket is still flowering away....

Hi folks
Well ...the blizzard didn't last long.........but it's amazing how many of our feathered friends suddenly appear in the garden as soon as the first flake falls!! Could spend all day watching them!
I'm out in the wilds.......about 900ft up in the Pennines....not far from 'Last of the Summer Wine' prog location!!
Winter season here is September thru to June!!  ::).......
so if anyone needs advice on hardy plants....... just ask!  ;D

Legless and BLizzie .....love it here ....but miss the Northumberland coast   :'(
