Hello all, just joined the site.

Some of you might remember me from the BBC boards.  I am known there as Richard Filer.

I have already seen some old names, whilst browsing through the posts here.  Special Hello to Palustris, aka Eric, rosebud and Alishka Maxwell et al.

Any help any of you can ofer me in getting the best out of this site or any tips you can offer, would be appreciated.

Be hearing from some of you soon I expect.

Regards

Richard

Hi Richard and welcome

Never got on with the beeb boards myself so gave up on them many many moons ago, however, I love this site and spend far to much time in it!  Browse, ask and answer is all I can say.  Get posting!!   ;D

I dont mean join that one and leave this one Hugh ;)

I'd just thought i'd tell you about it so that you could join us if you wanted to.

Its a shame that our community that was on the BBC site has now seemingly split itself amoungst these different sites.

I know the BBC have upset some people by the way that they run the MB's, so I understand why you have gone to other sites.  It would be great to be reunited on a different site, free from 'nanny' BBC.

Gardening4all is only a small group, it will never match this one, wouldnt want it to. It would be nice to see a few more faces on there whether old or new. At the moment we have only 4 or 5 members that regularly contribute.  Its hard to get good discussions going, harden when members are busy or on holiday.

If its any consolation Hugh, I have placed a link to A4all on our group site and am trying to get some of the members to join this site as well.

Regards

Richard

All beyond me, Richard - but just thought of the most vital difference with the beeb - here you can wipe out the indiscreet things that you've let slip in the heat of the moment. Saved my bacon this am . = Tim

Hello Eileen.

Thanks for the welcome (and everyone else).

Cant understand why people have so much trouble on yahoo. I have no trouble at all. If its finding it I have posted a link to it on this site.

Conversely we have a lady on G4All. Name of Pat aka gardengirl, who has tried to come on here yet couldnt get the hang of it and gave up. i am trying to persuade her to try again.

Yes this site seems less restricted than the Beeb, but with similar people on it.  In time I will get to grips with some of the extras.

By the way you mentioned a panto - care to tell me more? hope it doesnt clash with the Beeb party 9though if everyone is here instead of there it wont be much of a party!)

Best Wishes

Richard

Yo Richard

Nice to see you... this site is more or less self modding, whichiz good cuz as Tim sez.. wehas the power of deleting something that we may regret.. I'd you use it, if I could find the bl**dy thing :)

oZzY :)

The panto is on page 2, but Alishka hasn`t finished casting it yet so there are still several parts still available. Indeed as oZzY requires several smoke breaks he may well be glad of an assistant tree or brussel sprout. Failing that, the ladies will require several grassy knolls to lounge one - do you think you could play a knoll realistically?

Check our party n panto on this site and you'll find everyone is busy getting things fixed up.  8)  The party is to be on the 19th. Thankfully it's 2 days before the Beeb do so we should all have recovered by then.  ::) ::)

Speak again soon. Eileen.

Hugh! Have you been re-writing the script?? Thought that I was Grassy Nell and I was expecting the laddies, rather than ladies, to do something a bit more energetic than'lounge' on me.. :o

OK...casting this weekend, then? - Lishka

Different spellings, Lishka. Knollmasculine for ladies to lounge on, Nell definitely female, for the males to perform on whatever activities they are encouraged to perform.

After all, as this is to be an Equal Opportunities pantomime the males must also have the opportunity to be lounged on, although I think we must leave it to the discretion of the cast to ensure that only ladies lounge on Knolls and only gentlemen on Nells.

Mind you, from what oZzY says, several Nells might well catch fire if he`s careless with his cigarette-ends.
